On Wednesday 24th June 2020, WA Communications Director, Lisa Townsend, hosted a discussion with Marie Le Conte, journalist & political commentator, to provide a political journalist’s eye view on the inner workings of Westminster.

Lisa and Marie discussed how gossip drives the Westminster village and how the Covid-19 pandemic, with people confined at home rather than filling the bars around SW1, has changed the way politics ticks.

Marie Le Conte has written for the New Statesman, Prospect, the Sunday Times, the Guardian and others, and has appeared on the Today programme, Newsnight, BBC News, Daily Politics, Any Questions, and many others. She is the author of the critically acclaimed book: Haven’t You Heard…? Gossip, Power and How Politics Really Works.
