Children’s services in the UK is changing rapidly, with commissioning practices evolving to meet the needs of local authorities working in an increasingly tight budgetary environment.

WA Investor Services was appointed by a leading national provider to audit the political drivers of commissioning practice at national and local level so that the business could develop its commercial proposition.

We combined our Policy Risk Analysis and PRA Local offer to deliver insight and analysis for the client. Using our bespoke methodology, we analysed the policy, political and reputational factors impacting on the children’s services sector, assessing and contextualising the risks and opportunities for the asset across 25 separate local authorities in England.

Our analysis enabled the client to understand their primary customer base’s preferences. They could see what their customers want from their service providers. This will inform future tender opportunities.

The project also gave the client clarity over its position in the children’s services sector, and how the business needs to evolve to capitalise on developing opportunities.
