Cycle to Work Scheme

The pandemic drove significant changes in the way people work and new commuting trends called into question the long-term future of the Cycle to Work Scheme (C2W).

Our client wanted to understand existing perceptions of the scheme, potential future commuting habits, and potential requirements among employees, employers and industry stakeholders, in order to help position the scheme favourably in future work practice.

We created a research brief that incorporated:

  • A survey of 12,000+ scheme users
  • A survey of 600+ employers
  • A survey of 1,000+ UK adults (general public)
  • 6 in-depth interviews with stakeholders

The insights that we provided highlighted an increase in hybrid working and changes in commuting behaviour.

The findings and analysis challenged our client’s predictions for the future of work, gave them a head start in a changing commercial environment and provided the impetus to engage in conversations with the government on policy reform.
